What changes for waste brokers in October 2027?
Digital Waste Tracking replaces paper waste transfer notes and fragmented records with a single UK-wide digital service. Phase 1 covers permitted receiving sites from October 2026. Phase 2 brings waste carriers, brokers, dealers and exporters into scope from October 2027.
If your business arranges collections that subcontractors carry out, you will need complete, accurate movement records at the moment they happen, not reconstructed at month end from emails and spreadsheets.
